Set up the Authenticator app

To provide additional protection for your SPEDION account, an authenticator app is used.
The app continuously generates new security codes. You will need the current code each time you log in.

1. Install an authenticator app

Install an authenticator app on your smartphone.

For example:

• Microsoft Authenticator
• Google Authenticator
• FreeOTP

You can find these apps in the App Store or Google Play Store.

Downloading the authenticator using Microsoft Authenticator on an Android device as an example

1. Open the Play Store from the menu on your Android device.
2. Enter Microsoft Authenticator App in the search bar.
3. Select Microsoft Authenticator and tap Install.

2. Scan the QR code

1. Open the installed authenticator app.

If you are using the app for the first time

1. Select Allow when prompted with “Allow Authenticator to send notifications?”
2. Select Accept.
3. Select Next.
   
4. Select Scan QR Code.
   
5. Select While using the app when prompted with “Allow Authenticator to take pictures and videos?”
6. Hold the camera so that the QR code is positioned inside the light gray square.
   
7. The QR code is detected automatically and the account is created.

If you cannot scan the QR code:

1. Select Enter manually.
2. Enter or paste an account name and the displayed key.
   
3. Select FINISH SETUP.

If you are already using an authenticator app

1. Select Add account, the + icon in the top bar, or the round QR code icon.
2. Scan the QR Code.
   
3. The QR code is detected automatically and the account is created.

3. Enter the security code

1. In the authenticator app, tap the account you have just created (SPEDION).
   
2. A 6‑digit code is now displayed.
   

• The code refreshes regularly (usually every 30 seconds).
• If the code is not accepted, wait briefly and enter the newly generated code.

3. Enter the 6‑digit code.
   Optional: Enter a device name to help identify the device later.
   
4. Click Submit to complete the setup.

For every future sign-in you will need:

• Your SPEDION password
• The current security code from your authenticator app

Sign in

-> To sign in to SPEDION, enter the 6‑digit code displayed in your authenticator app.

1. In the authenticator app, choose your account (SPEDION).
   
2. A 6‑digit code is displayed..
   

• The code refreshes regularly (usually every 30 seconds).
• If the code is not accepted, wait briefly and enter the new code.

3. Enter the code in the SPEDION sign-in screen.

FAQ

Problems during setup?

• QR code does not work → use manual entry.
• Code is not accepted → wait for a new code.
• No access to the app → contact your administrator.

I don’t know where to find the code

The security code is displayed in your authenticator app on your smartphone.

1. Open the app you used during the initial setup (e.g. Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator).
2. Select the SPEDION entry.
3. A 6‑digit code is displayed.
4. Enter this code in the SPEDION sign-in screen.

The code does not work

Please check:

• Did you enter the current code?
  → The code changes every few seconds.* Stimmen Uhrzeit und Datum auf Ihrem Smartphone?
  → Are the date and time on your smartphone correct?
  → It is recommended to enable automatic time synchronization.
  If necessary, wait briefly and enter the next generated code.

I no longer have access to my smartphone

In this case, you will no longer be able to sign in.
→ Please contact your company administrator. They can reset your authenticator app.
