Hardwire kit
Hardwiring the dashcam to the vehicle’s fuse box is one of the most common methods of powering the dashcam.
To make the most of the dashcam’s features, such as standby mode, it must be connected to a constant power source.
The hardwire kit contains three cables and a connector for the dashcam:
- a black ground cable for a metal earth terminal
- a red cable for connecting the dashcam to the constant power supply
- a brown cable for connecting the dashcam to the ignition power supply
- a cable with a Molex connector for connecting to the dashcam

This installation should only be carried out by qualified technicians. Working on your vehicle’s electrical system can be dangerous. Please consult a qualified technician.
To use all the dashcam’s features, it must be connected using the cables supplied
to:
- a constant 12 V or 24 V power source with a minimum output of 2 A
- the vehicle’s ignition (minimum 1 A)
- the vehicle’s ground
- Connect the red hardwire cable to permanent positive.
- Connect the brown hardwire cable to ignition positive.
- Connect the black ground cable to ground.
A loose connection can cause problems with your dashcam’s power supply. We recommend earthing the cable to an unpainted, bare metal screw.
- Connect the Molex connector (on the vehicle connection cable) to the dashcam’s cable connector.
- Start your vehicle to test the dashcam.
- Once you have tested your dashcam, route the power cable along the vehicle’s headliner from the A-pillar to the power source.
Make sure that neither the cable nor the way you have fitted the dashcam can interfere with the normal operation of the airbags or the pedals.
