Preparation – Charging the dashcam

When a dashcam is stored away, the battery will run completely flat. Before using the dashcam, you must charge it for a prolonged period using a power source of at least 2 amps before switching it on.

The vehicle is parked on a level surface.

  1. Clean and degrease the windscreen. We recommend using the cleaning wipes provided.
  2. Attach the mount to the dashcam.
  3. Press the screen of the dashcam.
  4. Enter the default PIN 3333.
  5. Select Live View.
  6. Use the arrows (1) to switch between the two lenses. Use the views to position the dashcam.

Please note the following:

Minimum height above the ground

To use the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), the dashcam must be mounted at least 1.60 metres above the ground.

Observe the law

In some countries, there are regulations that prohibit or restrict the attachment of objects to the windscreen. Ensure that you comply with the applicable laws.

  • Position the dashcam as high as possible on the driver's side of the vehicle.
  • There must be a clear view of the road.
  • There must be a clear view of the driver's upper body.
  • The driver’s field of vision must be unobstructed and must not be blocked by the dashcam.
  • The windscreen in front of the dashcam must be within the range of the windscreen wipers. The lens facing the road must not be obscured by rain or snow.
  • The lenses facing the road and the driver’s cab are unobstructed and are not covered by a sun visor, blind, mirror, etc.

Can’t see the driver’s upper body clearly?
Mount the dashcam below the rear-view mirror, as high up as possible without obstructing the dashcam’s view of the driver.

  1. Remove the 3M adhesive tape cover and attach the dashcam to the windscreen.
