SPEDION DocScan App 2.0

Notes

To ensure error-free use of the SPEDION DocScan app, please note the following:

Automatic edge detection

Select a high-contrast background for your scan to enable automatic edge detection.

Note scan range

Please note that you should not scan the document from too far away or too close to the document in order to ensure sufficient resolution.

Usage

  1. To start a new scan, select the + icon.

  2. The SPEDION DocScan app detects your document automatically.

Automatic capture

If automatic capture does not work, trigger the capture manually using the usual round camera button at the bottom of the screen.


3. The scanned document is displayed.

  • The scan quality is displayed in the top bar (1).

  • In the edit bar(2), you can edit the scanned document by rotating and cropping it, add further scans by clicking Scan more, or Discard the scanned document or return to the overview page by clicking Done.
  1. On the Overview page, you will find all the pages/documents that you have scanned.

Individual pages or documents:

  • The pages are numbered with numbers on the left-hand side. They can be moved or rearranged.
    -> To do this, select a page by pressing and holding it and then move it.
  • Each page has a smiley that indicates the corresponding scan quality, as explained in point 3.
  • Individual pages can be edited or deleted using the 3 dots next to the smileys.

Overview page

  • You can use Show PDF to generate a PDF with all scanned pages/documents.
  • Use Done to complete the current scanning process for all pages/documents.
  • The 3 dots in the top right-hand corner allow you to sort documents/pages or delete them all, as well as display help and the imprint.

Proper Usage

The following are issues that may occur when using the SPEDION DocScan App and tips on how to resolve them:

Contrast
Choose a high-contrast background for your scan so that automatic edge detection can take place.

Make sure that you do not scan the document from too far away or too close, so that sufficient resolution can be ensured.

Staples
For multiple pages stapled together, make sure to fully fold back the page to be scanned. The pages underneath should not be visible.

Folders and binders
Remove documents from folders or binders if necessary.

Plastic sleeve
To avoid reflections, remove your document from the plastic sleeve and place it on a flat surface.

Post-it
If there is a Post-it on the document that extends beyond the edge, remove it.

Wrinkled document
Smooth out a wrinkled document as much as possible before scanning to make the text readable.

Hand in the image
Make sure that no hand is visible in the image. Place your document on a flat surface.

Permission Issues

Permissions

In order to use the SPEDION DocScan App 2.0 without errors, it requires permissions that are requested when you start the app and must be confirmed by you. You can also set these manually if they were previously denied.

  1. Select Apps -> SPEDION DocScan.
  2. Select Permissions.
  3. Grant access to Camera.
