Determine the installation position. Please note the following requirements:## Note

You have assigned the TinyRDL to a vehicle/trailer in SPEDIONline.
(See Setup TinyRDL)


Loss or damage to a loaned device

In the event of loss, damage (including damage to or cutting of the cable loom), loss of the return consignment or loss of the SIM card, a fee of €300.00 will be charged for each affected SPEDION TinyRDL.

Damage to the device

Make sure that the thread on the TinyRDL’s cable guide is tight and secure.

Do not cut the cable loom

The cable loom must not be shortened.

Installation in the vehicle

Determine the installation position. Please note the following requirements:

  • Ensure that the TinyRDL is not positioned too low and not below any metal.
  • Ensure that side A is facing upwards.

Connect

General safety instructions

Electrical devices may only be installed and assembled by qualified electricians.

Improper installation may result in injury, e.g. due to electric shock, fire or damage to property.

Read and follow the instructions in full.


To connect it, you will need the black, yellow and red cables, as well as the C connector.

  1. Connect the TinyRDL to the vehicle/trailer as shown in the illustration:
    Red – Permanent positive (30)
    Black – Ground (31)
    Yellow – Ignition

  1. Connect the C connector exclusively to the digital tachograph. Remove any other connections from the tachograph.

Check

The TinyRDL is powered.

  1. Check whether the two LEDs (Navigate LED and Status LED) on the TinyRDL are flashing.

You have connected the TinyRDL correctly.

Is the LED lit continuously?

If the Navigate LED remains lit, this means that no GPS signal has been detected.

Solution:
Check that you have installed the TinyRDL with the correct side A facing upwards. Ensure that the TinyRDL is not positioned beneath any metal and is placed as high up as possible.

  1. Open SPEDIONline or the SPEDION Portal App.
  2. Check whether the vehicle is shown on the map with a marker and a green dot.
