      SIM cards - Hardware requirements

      Please note that the TruckBox E is an industrial device and therefore has hardware requirements for the SIM cards.

      Format:
      We recommend the use of industry-compatible SIM cards in microSim format.

      No PIN:
      Please note that the SIM card used must not have a PIN!

      Data volume:
      Please note that a data volume of at least 2GB/month is required for the TruckBox E to operate smoothly.

      Adapter for triple SIM:
      If you want to use a triple SIM, it is necessary to remove the nanoSIM and install it in the TruckBox E using the enclosed SIM adapter (nano to micro). If this is not done, the functionality may be impaired.

      Use of your own SIM cards

      If you want to use your own SIM cards in the SPEDION TruckBox, please note the following:

      The SIM card must fulfil the following requirements:

      • At least 2GB/month data volume
      • MicroSIM format
      • SIM card is activated
      • SIM card must not have a PIN

      You must first send a SIM card to SPEDION for verification.

      Large downloads on the Android device

      Please note that the TruckBox E opens a WiFi network to which your Android device connects. This means that the Android device can start software updates unhindered and exhaust the data volume of the SIM card in the TruckBox E.
      We recommend deactivating system updates and only carrying them out in the main control unit's WiFi.

      1. Open the SIM card slot

      You will need a T7 Torx screwdriver.

      1. Unscrew the two screws on the front of the TruckBox E.
      2. Remove the plastic cover.

      2. Use the SIM card adapter

      This chapter is only necessary if you are using a triple SIM.
      If you have a TruckBox E with a SPEDION SIM card, this is already installed. If it is a TruckBox E without a SIM card, the SIM card adapter is included in the scope of delivery.

      Your SIM card is a triple SIM.

      1. Break the nanoSIM size out of the triple SIM.
      2. Insert the nanoSIM into the nano to micro SIM card adapter.

      You must insert the SIM card into the SIM card adapter according to the cut-out. The SIM card contacts must be free and must not be covered by a film.

      3. Insert SIM card

      Your SIM card meets the requirements or you have used the SIM card adapter.
      The SIM card slot is open.

      1. Insert the SIM card into the left slot with the contacts facing down.
      2. Slide the SIM card into the SIM slot until it visibly and audibly clicks into place.

      4. Close SIM card slot

      You will need a T7 Torx screwdriver.

      1. Insert the plastic cover.
      2. Tighten the two screws on the front of the TruckBox E hand-tight.
