Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)
The dashcam uses the functions of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) to gather information about the road ahead.
- Lane departure – Your vehicle crosses a certain number of road markings within a specific time period
- Tailgating – Your vehicle is driving too close to the vehicle in front of you. The dashcam takes into account the set parameters for tailgating and can estimate the time to collision (TTC).
- If the driver exceeds the TTC limit for the configured duration (or longer), they receive visual and audible warnings.
Users can configure the permitted TTC and duration parameters as shown in the table below:
Important: The default values are not recommendations!
| Parameter name | Description | Valid values (milliseconds) | Default values (milliseconds) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Time to collision during the day | The TTC threshold during the day | 1,000 to 15,000 | 2,000 |
| Time to collision at night | The TTC threshold at night | 1,000 to 15,000 | 3,000 |
| Continuous time to collision | The time period during which the TTC can be exceeded before a warning is issued. This value is the same for both day and night. | 1,000 to 60,000 | 3,000 |
Calibration of the driver assistance system (ADAS)
Please ensure that the steps Mounting the dashcam, connecting the dashcam and calibrating the accelerometer have been carried out correctly.
To use the Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), the dashcam must be mounted at least 1.60 metres above the ground.
-
Drive the vehicle fitted with the dashcam for about five minutes at a speed of over 75 km/h on a country road or motorway.
The footage from this journey will be automatically recorded and saved for use later in the calibration process.
Until your dashcam is calibrated, footage will be recorded and saved every time you drive at a speed of over 75 km/h. -
Once you have parked the vehicle, tap the dashcam screen and enter your PIN to unlock it.
-
Select Settings.
-
Scroll down until you reach ADAS and toggle the switch to on to start the calibration process.

- Use the up arrow keys to view the images captured during your journey. Select an image that shows a clear view of the road ahead of your vehicle.

- Measure the height of the camera above the floor and enter the value in centimetres.

- Measure the width of the rear axle from the outer edges of each tyre in centimetres.

- Measure the camera’s offset from the centre of the windscreen and enter the value in centimetres.

- Adjust the height of the red line so that it marks the highest point at which the dashboard or the front of the vehicle is visible.

- Adjust the rectangle so that the edges of the left and right lanes are marked.

- Confirm the calibration layout.

- Go back to Settings to check whether your dashcam has been successfully calibrated.

The ADAS has been successfully calibrated.
