Requirements
To activate ALK CoPilot Version 9.6, you need a valid and available licence.
Starting with Version 9.6, a new licensing system is used. Licence keys are no longer required.
To install ALK CoPilot 9.6 on an Android device, log in to the SPEDION App using a vehicle that has a vehicle configuration with ALK 9.6.
The Android device must have at least 16 GB of internal storage for installing the map data.
Of these 16 GB, at least 6 GB of internal storage must be available.
If your device does not meet these requirements, please contact SPEDION Support.
Assigning Vehicle Configuration
To assign the ALK 9.6 vehicle configuration to a vehicle, proceed as follows:
- Ensure that you have a PC with internet access.
- Verify that you are an Administrator in SPEDIONline Administration.
Steps to assign:
- Open SPEDIONline.
- Log in with your Username and Password.
- Select the menu item Administration.
- Click on Vehicle Configuration.
- Search for the vehicle configuration with "ALK 9.6" in the name.
- Click Edit on ALK 9.6 vehicle configuration in the line.
-> All vehicles assigned to the vehicle configuration will be displayed.
7. In the Unassigned Vehicles section, select the desired vehicle and assign it to the Assigned Vehicles section using the Arrow >.
8. Confirm your input by clicking Save.
Downloading Map Data
Contact SPEDION Support at support@spedion.de to obtain the download link for the current map data.
Starting with Q2/2020 map data, Russia and Turkey are no longer included in the download link due to storage space limitations. If you need these countries, they must be installed separately.
From ALK 10, this installation is possible through an automatic map update.
Please contact SPEDION Support for this.
- Open the link provided by SPEDION and log in with your password.
- Download the provided .zip file of the map data to your PC.
- Right-click the file and select Extract All.
7. Select a destination for the extracted file (e.g. Desktop) and confirm by clicking Extract.
Transferring Map Data to Your Android Device
The Android device must have at least 16 GB of internal storage for installing the map data.
Of these 16 GB, at least 6 GB of internal storage must be free.
If your device does not meet these requirements, please contact SPEDION Support.
- Connect your Android device to your PC using a USB cable.
- Open the folder containing the map data on your PC.
- Open the contained folders until the com.alk.copilot folder is displayed.
4. Open your Android device in the file browser of the PC and copy the com.alk.copilot folder (either by right-clicking copy or Drag and Drop) to the Root Directory of your Android device.
When copying map data to your Android device, a prompt may appear for .xml files.
If this happens, select the option Execute for all files and confirm the copying with Yes.
- Once the transfer of the folder is complete, the map data is successfully on your Android device, and you can disconnect it from your PC.
Installing ALK CoPilot
- Launch the SPEDION App and log in with a vehicle that has been assigned the ALK 9.6 Vehicle Configuration.
If you haven’t assigned a vehicle yet:
Assign a specific vehicle to the existing ALK 9.6 vehicle configuration in SPEDIONline Administration, as described in the "Assigning Vehicle Configuration" section. After the assignment, log out from the SPEDION App and log back in with the assigned vehicle.
- In the SPEDION App, go to More Functions -> Tools -> Update -> Install Update -> Install. Repeat these steps until no new updates are available.
-> You have successfully installed ALK 9.6.
Setting Up ALK CoPilot
- In the SPEDION App, select the Navigation Icon.
Ignore any error messages and restarts.
When running the navigation program for the first time, restarts and error messages may appear, but the navigation program will initialize.
2. On the start screen, select Use Default Settings and confirm the warning with OK.
3. Under Vehicle Size, select 18.75m.
Alternatively: Define your own dimensions that apply to the specific vehicle.
4. Press the white arrow in the top-right corner until the menu item Save Profile appears.
Alternatively: If necessary, adjust vehicle-specific settings.
5. Define a name for the profile and confirm by clicking Save.
-> You have successfully set up ALK CoPilot 9.6.
