Article summary

What does it mean when a red track is displayed on the map?

A red track can mean:

  • The vehicle is moving (GPS position), but no speed signal can be received.
  • The vehicle was travelling at less than 20 km/h.

Solution 1: Check the settings of the vehicle data interface

If no speed signal can be supplied, check the settings for this vehicle in the SPEDIONline Administration.

Variant 1: A SPEDION TruckBox is installed in the vehicle

  1. In SPEDIONline, click on Administration.
  2. Click on Vehicles.
  3. Click on Edit in the line of the corresponding vehicle.
  4. Click on the Devices / vehicle data interface tab.
  5. Optional: Move the mouse over the question mark next to "Speed data source" to obtain further information on the selection options.
  6. Select the appropriate setting under Speed data source.
Settings must be selected depending on the connection in the vehicle

The settings for the vehicle data interface must be selected individually for each vehicle.
You must note how the TruckBox was connected in the particular vehicle (via which plug or cable).

Variant 2: A SPEDION Bluetooth Adapter or no device is installed in the vehicle

  1. In SPEDIONline, click on Administration.
  2. Click on Vehicles.
  3. Click on Edit in the line of the corresponding vehicle.
  4. Click on the Devices / vehicle data interface tab.
  5. Optional: Move the mouse over the question mark next to "Vehicle data interface" to obtain further information on the selection options.
  6. Select the appropriate setting under Vehicle data interface.
Settings must be selected depending on the connection in the vehicle

The vehicle data interface setting must be selected individually for each vehicle.
You must note which connections are available in the particular vehicle (FMS interface or digital tachograph) or which plug or cable was used to connect the Bluetooth Adapter.

Solution 2: Check assigned device

If no speed signal can be supplied, check whether the correct device (SPEDION TruckBox or SPEDION Bluetooth Adapter) has been assigned to the vehicle in SPEDIONline.

  1. In SPEDIONline, click on Administration.
  2. Click on Vehicles.
  3. Click on Edit in the line of the corresponding vehicle.
  4. Click on the Devices / vehicle data interface tab.
  5. Under Installed devices (1), check whether the serial number displayed there matches the serial number of the device installed in the vehicle.
  6. If the serial numbers do not match: Click Remove (2) next to the incorrectly assigned device.
  7. Under Available devices (3), click Install (4) in the line of the correct device.
