Solar-powered tracking box for mobile units
Scope of delivery
Exposure to sunlight is recommended during storage. The TrailerBox PV should not be stored in closed rooms, packaging or cupboards.
Installing
Electrical devices may only be assembled and installed by qualified electricians. Incorrect installation may result in injury, e.g. through electric shock, fire or material damage.
Read and follow these instructions in full.
Particularly high temperatures are harmful to the integrated battery and can cause it to ignite.
Therefore, never operate the TrailerBox PV on the dashboard or other places where particularly high temperatures (over 60° C) can occur.
The SPEDION TrailerBox PV may only be attached using the SPEDION TrailerBox PV Holder.
Mounting the SPEDION TrailerBox PV Holder
The SPEDION TrailerBox PV must be mounted on the trailer with the solar panel pointing upwards, or on the front wall of the trailer or on the doors of the trailer with sufficient light.
- Ensure that the surface on which the SPEDION TrailerBox PV Holder is to be mounted is free of dirt and degreased before installation.
- Fasten the SPEDION TrailerBox PV Holder with four M8 screws or a construction adhesive (recommended: Würth methyl methacrylate adhesive MAK38).

Connecting the TrailerBox PV to the TrailerBox PV Holder
- Make sure that the TrailerBox PV Holder is correctly attached.
- Click the TrailerBox PV via the 4 openings into the brackets of the TrailerBox PV Holder.
Setting up
Create trailer/object
- In SPEDION Administration, select Trailer/Object > Overview.
- Click on Create trailer/object in the top right-hand corner.
- Enter the PIN for the desired vehicle/trailer in the Vehicle PIN (Trailer/Object PIN) field. You will then see this PIN in SPEDIONline.
- click on Next.
Assign TrailerBox PV
- Click on the Devices tab
- Assign the desired TrailerBox PV to the Trailer/Object via the Install button. Make sure that the serial number displayed matches the serial number shown on the TrailerBox PV.
3. The selected TrailerBox PV is displayed under Installed devices.
4. Click the Save button.
Checking
Check the display on the map
- Open SPEDIONline or the SPEDION Portal App.
- Check whether the trailer/object is displayed on the map with a marker and a green dot.
Important:
The TrailerBox PV only appears in SPEDIONline as soon as it has sent data for the first time since it was assigned. It may take some time before the TrailerBox PV is displayed.
This can be accelerated by moving the SPEDION TrailerBox PV, for example by driving it or shaking it.
If the device is not displayed within 3 days, please contact our Support.
Check battery voltage
- Select the Fleet tab in SPEDIONline.
- In the Fleet overview, select the desired Trailer/Object from the list by double-clicking on it to open the cockpit of the Trailer/Object.
Alternatively: Select the desired Trailer/Object on the map by double-clicking on it.
3. Select the Vehicle tab in the Cockpit. The battery voltage is displayed under Internal voltage in V.
