This section describes the quick start with the TrailerBox PV.
The procedure outlined here is intended to assist experienced users. If you encounter any difficulties, you can refer to the complete documentation.
Electrical devices may only be installed and assembled by qualified electricians.
Improper installation may result in injury, e.g. due to electric shock, fire or damage to property.
Read and follow the instructions in full.
Warranty
Devices that have been installed without the TrailerBox PV Holder supplied with the TrailerBox PV are excluded from the warranty.
Similarly, TrailerBox PV devices that show signs of impact, breakage or other signs of improper use are excluded from the warranty.
Check the scope of delivery
Check that the following components are included in the delivery:
- 1 x SPEDION TrailerBox PV
- 1 x user manual
- 1 x SPEDION TrailerBox PV Holder
- 4 x M8 DIN-7991 screws
Install and set up
The SPEDION TrailerBox PV may only be attached using the SPEDION TrailerBox PV Holder.
Please note the warranty information!
Mounting the SPEDION TrailerBox Holder
Alignment of the solar panel:
- Must point to the top or be mounted on the front wall or doors of the trailer
- It is always important that the solar panel receives sufficient light!
Installation on vertical surfaces:
GPS antenna must be at the top → side label with SPEDION logo must point to the left!
Installation on a horizontal surface:
The direction of the GPS antenna is not relevant.
- Clean and degrease the surface on which the SPEDION TrailerBox PV Holder is to be mounted.
- Secure the SPEDION TrailerBox PV Holder using the four M8 screws provided or construction adhesive (recommendation: Würth methyl methacrylate adhesive MAK38).
Recommendation
Position the TrailerBox PV Holder approx. 40 cm away from the top and side edges of the trailer:

Connect TrailerBox PV to the TrailerBox PV Holder
- Ensure that the TrailerBox PV Holder is correctly attached.
- Click the TrailerBox PV into the four openings in the TrailerBox PV Holder brackets.
Avoid pressing on the solar panel when installing the device in the bracket.

Please note that for a vertical installation, the side lettering on the TrailerBox PV with the SPEDION logo must face left.

Set up
Create trailer/object
- Open in SPEDIONline Administration > Trailer/Object > Overview.
- Click on Create trailer/object.
- Enter a PIN for the desired trailer/object.
- Click on Next.
Assign TrailerBox PV
- Click on the tab Devices.
- Under Available devices, click on Install next to the desired TrailerBox PV.
Ensure that the serial number displayed matches the serial number on the TrailerBox PV..

- The selected TrailerBox PV is displayed under Installed devices displayed.

- Click on Save.
Check
Important:
- The TrailerBox PV only appears in SPEDIONline after it has sent data for the first time. The display may take some time.
- To speed up the display, the TrailerBox PV can be moved (e.g. by driving or shaking it).
- If the device is still not displayed after 3 days, please contact Support contact.
Check the display on the map:
- Open SPEDIONline or the SPEDION Portal App.
- Check whether the trailer/object is displayed on the map with a marker and a green dot.

Check battery voltage
- In SPEDIONline, open the menu item Fleet.
- Select the desired trailer/object in the Fleet overview or on the map to open the trailer/object Cockpit.

- In the cockpit, select the tab Vehicle. The battery voltage is displayed under Telematics battery voltage in V.
