Correct assignment of the TruckBox E in SPEDIONline
Please note that trouble-free commissioning can only take place if the TruckBox E has been assigned to the vehicle in SPEDIONline in advance and configured there.
Configuration currently not possible via SPEDION Portal App
The required configuration of the TruckBox E is currently not possible via the SPEDION Portal App.
You should therefore use SPEDIONline to configure the TruckBox.
Create vehicle
- In the Administration, click on Vehicles in the menu bar.
- Click on + Create vehicle.
- Enter the desired PIN for the vehicle in the Vehicle PIN field.
- Click on Next.
Configure TruckBox E
Settings must be selected depending on the connection in the vehicle
The settings for the vehicle data interface must be selected individually for each vehicle.
You must take into account how the TruckBox is connected in the particular vehicle (via which plug or cable) and how the SPEDION App is connected.
- In the ‘Edit vehicle’ window, click on the Devices tab.
- Search for the TruckBox to be installed in the vehicle under Available devices using the serial number.
- Click on Install in the corresponding line.
- Optional: Move the mouse over the question mark at the end of a line to obtain further information on the selection options.
- Select the options that apply to your TruckBox E (see table below for more information):
- Select the Connection to the SPEDION App (1)
- Select the Speed data source (2)
- Select the Connection to the digital tachograph (3)
- Click on Save.

Information on the individual configuration options:

Connection to the SPEDION App | Bluetooth | Android device with SIM card in the vehicle. You want to transmit the vehicle data from the TruckBox E to the Android device via Bluetooth and establish the Internet connection of the Android device via the SIM card installed there. |
WiFi | Android device without SIM card in the vehicle. You would like to transfer the vehicle data from the TruckBox E to the Android device via WiFi and also establish the Internet connection of the Android device via the WiFi hotspot of the TruckBox E. | |
No Android device installed | You do not have an Android device in the vehicle and transfer all data from the TruckBox E directly via the mobile phone network. | |
Speed data source | FMS | You have connected the TruckBox E to the FMS connector in the vehicle and receive speed data via the FMS interface. |
D8 | You have connected the TruckBox E directly to the tachograph at D8 via the purple cable and receive speed data directly from the tachograph. | |
GPS | You have only connected the TruckBox E to the antenna and receive speed data via GPS. | |
Connection to the digital tachograph (source of remote download) | over FMS | You have connected the TruckBox E to the FMS connector in the vehicle and receive driving and rest times via the FMS interface. |
via white (C7) / yellow (C5) cable | You have connected the TruckBox E directly to the tachograph at C7 and C5 via the white/yellow cable and receive driving and rest times directly from the tachograph. | |
No tachograph connected / no remote download | You have not connected a tachograph and have therefore deactivated the remote download. You will not receive any driving and rest times or other data from the tachograph. |
