Vehicle configuration overview
The Vehicle configuration module allows you to create and manage your own vehicle configurations and assign them to vehicles.
Vehicle configurations can be used to set for each vehicle...
- which phone numbers are displayed in the phone book,
- which websites can be opened,
- who receives sent messages,
- which message templates are available.
You can assign several vehicle configurations to each vehicle.
To transfer changes in the vehicle configuration to the SPEDION App, the SPEDION App user must log out and log in again.
Create vehicle configuration
- In the Administration, click on Vehicle configuration.
- Enter a desired configuration name in the Name field.
- Click on Add new vehicle configuration.
- Edit the vehicle configuration.
Edit the vehicle configuration
For example, you may assign only one configuration setting "Message Receiver" to a vehicle. If more are assigned, one configuration setting is automatically selected from these. The others are not taken into account.
Activate only one configuration setting at a time (e.g. telephone book or message recipient).
In this way, you can assign the same websites to different vehicles, for example, but different phone books. This is not possible if all configuration settings are in one vehicle configuration.
- Click on Edit in the line of the desired vehicle configuration.
2 Optional - Change name: Click in the name field (1) to change the name. - Tick the desired configuration (2).
- Phone book: You want to set which phone numbers are displayed in the phone book.
- Websites: You want to set which websites can be displayed.
- Message recipient: You want to set who receives the messages sent by the vehicle.
- Message templates: You want to set which message templates are displayed to drivers in the SPEDION App.
- TPMS-Thresholds: You want to set which TPMS threshold values should apply to the tyres of the vehicles.
- Set as default group: (3) You want to set this group as the default for all vehicles. This is useful if you have a vehicle configuration for your phone book and you want this to be available automatically for all vehicles. It is possible to define several standard configurations.
- Click Save (7) to activate the configuration setting.
Changes are not saved directly in the vehicle configuration:
After editing each tab, you must select whether you want to save or discard the changes you have made.
You can check the changes you have made before saving them. Changes that have not yet been saved are highlighted in yellow.
If you click on Discard changes, the status after the last save is restored. The contents highlighted in yellow are reset.
Please note that the tab for a new configuration only appears once you have clicked on Save after ticking the box.
- Assign vehicle groups or vehicles to your vehicle configuration:
- Select the desired vehicle groups (vehicles) under Unassigned vehicle groups (4) (vehicles (5)).
- Click on the corresponding Arrow to the left (6).
- Optional - Remove vehicles: Select the desired vehicle groups (vehicles) under Assigned vehicle groups (vehicles) and click on the Arrow to the right.
- Click on Save (7).
- Edit the selected configuration as required (further information can be found here in the corresponding articles).
If you only see the Edit button behind a vehicle configuration, you can only view details of the vehicle configuration and assign the vehicle configuration to vehicles.
Further editing of this vehicle configuration can only be carried out by SPEDION.
Delete vehicle configuration
- Click on Delete in the line of the desired vehicle configuration.
- Click on Delete.
Export vehicle configuration
You can export an Excel file in which you can see which vehicles the selected vehicle configuration has been assigned to.
- Click on Edit in the line of the desired configuration.
- Click on Export in the top right-hand corner of the menu bar.
You will find the file in the Downloads folder of your PC.
